Detailed Itinerary Inspiration

Day 1 - Lunch and afternoon game drive

Land with an appetite in Tsavo East and head to lunch at the safari lodge. Your Kenyan safari starts with an afternoon game drive, where you can view the park’s endemic wild animals (from a safe distance) before heading back for the night.

Day 2 - Game drives
Morning game viewing offers you the best chance to see over 500 bird species. A short flight to Tsavo West separates breakfast and lunch, followed by a lazy afternoon drive to see zebra, hippo and Kenya’s famous red elephant.
Day 3 - Game drives
Settle in for morning and afternoon game drives. Tsavo West is the most protected park in Kenya, making animal sightings a certainty. Watch buffalo, giraffe and wildebeest grazing in the savanna, then dine at your lodge.
Day 4 - Last game drive at Tsavo West
A last chance to see the animals of Tsavo West before breakfast. You’ll fly to your lodge for lunch and an afternoon visit to the tribal Maasai community. End the day with an evening bush sundowner and night-time game drive.
Day 5 - Amboseli National Park
Mount Kilimanjaro makes an epic backdrop for a day of game viewing in Amboseli National Park. The reserve is famous for its large herds of free-roaming elephant and the 40-odd raptor species that hunt in the swamps.
Day 6 - Masai Mara
You’ll spend the morning on the lookout for lion, spotted hyena and cheetah competing for food. After breakfast, you’ll take a short flight to the Masai Mara for lunch and a drive into scenes of scattered acacias that hide the reserve’s big cats.
Day 7 - Masai Mara
Depending on when you visit, you may witness the Great Migration of wildebeest, zebra and antelope (and pursuant predators) across the breath-taking plains of the Masai Mara National Park. Drives in the morning and just before sunset up your chances of sighting the elusive leopard or endangered black rhino.
Day 8 - Back to Nairobi
Savour your last breakfast in the bush before flying back to Nairobi. The abundant, diverse wildlife and the picturesque landscape of the Masai Mara will live long in your memory.
Optional - Add a 4-night Mombasa Beach extension to your itinerary
All that safari will leave you in need of some serious R&R on the beachside paradise that is Kenya’s romantic Indian Ocean coast. You will be collected from the airport on arrival and transported to a resort of your choice. Rinse off the African dust with a 4-night tropical beach getaway, on a full board and lodging basis. If you ever tire of the virgin sands and always-warm ocean waters, visit the bazaar and the wood-carvers’ market during a full-day tour of Mombasa, or opt for lunch aboard the Tamarind Dhow (a seafood dinner cruise is also available). The Bamburi nature trail offers one last chance to see the animals of Africa before heading home.
